Water-fueled Hydrogen Engines Tested in Baltimore
Extracting hydrogen and oxygen from water and burning the gas in your vehicle engine? Crazy, many engineers and other experts say. But four Baltimore highway workers say they've made devices to do just that and successfully used them on their own vehicles, and now they have the OK to test them on more vehicles.

New report offers grim assessment of plug-in hybrids
The Chevy Volt and future models of the Toyota Prius will offer drivers the chance to avoid using gasoline for short trips. But a new report from the National Academies of Science indicates that they'll need decades and billions of dollars in incentives to flourish unless gasoline prices rise above four dollars a gallon.
